You use the Release Override pick action to release an override from a WITS point value. The pick action is only available while a point is overridden.
NOTE: The device profile indicates which types of point (if any) you can override in the Field Device (see Display a WITS Device Profile). You can override all types of point in the Master Station.
To release an override from a point, follow this procedure:
- Select the Release Override pick action to display the Release Override window.
- The Location field indicates the location from which the point is overridden. Use the Location field's combo box to specify whether you want to release the override from ClearSCADA (the Master Station) or from the Field Device (the Outstation).
- Select the OK button to release the override. Depending on your system configuration, ClearSCADA may prompt you to confirm your release override request.
NOTE: When you remove an override from an analog input point in the Field Device, the Field Device applies any configured hysteresis or persistence to the point if the point may subsequently move from one state to another (including the normal state). Similarly, when you remove an override from a binary input point in the Field Device, the Field Device applies any configured persistence.
NOTE: If you use this pick action with the Automation Interface you need to specify the method name Release.
